Privacy Policy
Effective August 3, 2026
Chore Lock is a family app, and a lot of what it touches belongs to kids. That means we hold ourselves to a simple standard: collect as little as possible, protect what we collect, and never make money from your family's data. This page explains, in plain English, exactly what we store and what we do with it.
Who we are
Chore Lock is made by ACED LLC. If you have any question about this policy or your data, email us at support@getchorelock.com — a real person reads it.
What the app stores
To make Chore Lock work, we store:
- Your kid's first name and birth year. The first name labels their chores; the birth year picks the right kid-mode experience for their age. We don't ask for anything more — no last name, no exact birthday.
- Chores — the chores you create, who they're assigned to, and their completion history.
- Proof photos — the photos kids take inside the app to show a chore is done.
- Screen-time balances — how many minutes each kid has earned and used.
- Your parent account — the email address and sign-in details you use to run your household.
How proof photos are handled
Photos are encrypted in storage, visible only to people in your household, and automatically deleted 30 days after a parent reviews them. A parent can also delete any photo at any time. Photos are never used for anything except showing you the chore — no training, no marketing, no exceptions.
What we never do
- No ads. Not on the free plan, not anywhere.
- No third-party trackers or analytics. No ad networks, no data brokers, no analytics companies inside the app.
- We never sell your data. Not yours, and especially not your kids'.
- We don't collect location, contacts, or browsing history. Chore Lock doesn't need them, so it doesn't touch them.
This website
getchorelock.com sets no cookies and runs no analytics. If you join the waitlist, we store your email address for exactly one purpose: sending you one email when Chore Lock launches. We don't share it, and we'll delete it on request — just write to support@getchorelock.com.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account — and everything in it — right inside the app. If you'd rather we do it, or you want to confirm it's gone, email support@getchorelock.com and we'll take care of it.
Children's privacy
Chore Lock is built for families, and parents stay in control from start to finish. A parent creates the household, adds each kid, pairs each device, and can see and delete everything a kid's profile contains. Kids can't create accounts on their own, and we collect the bare minimum about them: a first name, a birth year, their chores, their proof photos (gone within 30 days of review), and their screen-time balance. We designed Chore Lock with children's privacy law — including COPPA, the U.S. children's online privacy law — in mind.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. For a meaningful change — anything that affects what we collect or how it's used — we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
